Amphenol Corporation had 27 facilities worldwide, but had not successfully penetrated the Japanese market.

Arneson formed a joint-venture with a Japanese company, and named the new entity, "Nippon Interconnect Company." Each owner took a 50% equity position.

Nippon Interconnect was a successful business enterprise.
